ČD Cargo, a.s. executive management realize that, as a matter of course, we must retain our share on the railway cargo transport market, increase the volume of goods transferred and strengthen our position in international transport.

There is one tool, among all others, for achieving such goals which ČD Cargo, a.s. management considers the primary tool: an established and efficient quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.

The certification of České dráhy, a.s. cargo transport services according to the ISO 9001 Standard was transferred to ČD Cargo, a.s.

The Quality Certificate issued for České dráhy, a.s., Cargo Transport and Carriage Department, on 16 February 2007, was transferred to ČD Cargo, a.s. on 19 March 2008. The effective date of the original certificate was not changed by the transfer. Quality Certificate was issued by Moody International Ltd.

The lines of certification are as follows, i.e.

Business Activities in the Field of Railway Cargo Transport and Carriage, and
Services in the Field of Railway Cargo Transport and Carriage have remained unchanged as well.

ČD Cargo, a.s. will be fully in charge of all follow-up supervisory audits.

By the implementation and further development of the quality management system, company management declared the following concerns:

To prove their ability to permanently provide a product meeting both the demands of customers and legal regulations;
To put emphasis on a customer-oriented approach and increase customer satisfaction;
To develop a positive and stimulating working environment for their personnel;
To improve their management system including the quality management system;
To meet the conditions of their customers’ tenders;
To enhance their competitiveness;
To apply a process management system within quality management.

Other essential reasons for implementing the quality management system include: to simplify internal processes and activities, to produce a reasonable profit, to reduce costs, and to increase product quality as much as possible.

Ing. Václav Andrýsek, the Executive Director and member of the Company Board of Directors, was appointed as company management’s representative for quality according to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard.
