Transporting whole trains or groups of wagons with a single consignment note (CN) for domestic or international transport brings considerable benefits to our customers. The greatest benefit is that the group of wagons accompanied by a single CN can be included in the identical train, and wagons with identical goods for a single receiver are not included in different trains, such as may happen when the load is completed up to the standard weight of the train, when the train leaves a crossing or a shunting station at the border.
Subsequently, all acts connected with handling transport documents, including acts of administrative bodies such as police, customs offices, phytosanitary and veterinary checkpoints, etc., are much more simple and prompt.
A whole train means a shipment of the same kind of goods, which is registered for transport by the forwarder based on a single CN and designed for a single receiver and a single railway station of destination, and its length/weight complies with the standard length/weight that applies to the tracks used (the same applies for groups of wagons).
Any customer’s application concerning the transport of a whole train/group of wagons accompanied by a single CIM CN should always be submitted to the dispatching station. Every approval issued remains in force for a single calendar year.
The agreement concerning consignment of whole trains/groups of wagons with a single CIM CN (with preliminary consultation) shall also apply to transport of hazardous items according to RID (COTIF, Appendix C). ČD must be consulted in advance about any transport of hazardous items.
Tables including weight and length limits for specific border crossing stations are published in a shipping and tariff bulletin.
