EUR Pallets

Generally, this offer includes transporting goods on flat wood exchange EUR Pallets (size 800 x 1,200 mm), and returning the empty pallets to an agreed on exchange station of České dráhy.

To use flat exchange EUR Pallets for railway transport in the Czech Republic, a pallet consortium has been established by České dráhy and its partners to exchange the pallets within both domestic and international transport. This activity has resulted in the following benefits: easier handling of goods in loading; transport of goods without the customer's obligation to ensure return transport of the EUR Pallets; and the fact that the weight of the exchange pallets is not included in the shipping weight when calculating freight charges.

Agreement on Mutual Exchange

The Agreement on Mutual Exchange within the pallet consortium can be made between each of the carriers and the Cargo Transport and Carriage Department, Generální ředitelství Českých drah (General Directorate of České dráhy) by means of a Regional Customer Centre, in the territory where the dispatch station of the shipments is located.

The agreement specifies the exchange station in which the carrier will perform the exchange of pallet credit notes for flat exchange pallets.

Conditions for Transport of Goods

The terms and conditions for transport of goods on exchange pallets have been published by means of Přepravního a tarifního věstníku (PTV) F 3/11-12/2005, It includes detailed rules concerning the pallet credit and debit notes, time periods for pallet return and delivery, fees for delivered/unreturned pallets, entries in consignment notes, procedures when settling differences between entries in consignment notes and the physical status of pallets, a list of ČD exchange stations and other proprieties concerning the general operation of the pallet exchange system.

Any producer willing to make EUR Pallets meeting these conditions may apply to Zásobovací sklad Praha (Logistic Store) for the production licence:
