Intermodal (combined) transportation means transportation of goods in a single means of transport and/or road vehicle. There are two basic types of transport systems in combined transport; i.e. accompanied and non-accompanied combined transport.
Accompanied combined transport means the transport of road vehicles (including the crew) by sets consisting of special low-floor railway wagons (‚Ro-La‘ transport).
Non-accompanied combined transport means transport performed by large containers, swap bodies and articulated trailers.
