Single Wagons
Transporting loads by single wagons is a solution which is well-suited for customers requiring transport of a minor volume of goods. Normally, a single wagon and/or group of railway wagons (up to five) is used for transportation of complete wagon loads. Such wagons are transported along a standard train formation route from the consignor to the consignee.
This means that the wagons are gradually included in several consecutive trains. Generally, they are carried by a local or handling train from the consignor to the nearest sorting station. From here, they are dispatched by a long distance train (i.e. transit train or cargo express train) into the nearest sorting station to the consignee, and then distributed by a local train.
