Siding Services

All rail siding activities are regulated by the Act on Railways No. 266/1994 Coll., and by all regulations that have been published pursuant to this act. To regulate legal transport relations when meeting transport demands in the field of transport of complete wagon loads from/to sidings (such as mutual dispatch of wagons, crossing of vehicles, operating technology, monitoring of stay on the sidings, local transfers, etc.), a rule named Jednotné obchodně přepravní podmínky pro vlečky (Common Business Transport Terms and Conditions for Rail Sidings) was published by České dráhy.

Conditions

If a rail siding owner is interested in operating railway transport in cooperation with ČD Cargo on such siding, an effective official permission for the siding in question must be issued. The rail siding operator must ensure the following:

• Conclusion of a contract concerning contact between mutually terminated tracks, with the operators of neighbouring tracks;
• Conclusion of a contract concerning operation of railway transport on the siding, with all railway transport operators on the siding.

In addition, the rail siding owner or a rail siding user/renter approved by the owner must enter in a contract concerning business and transport conditions on the siding with ČD Cargo. Such contract shall specify the specific conditions concerning provision and removal of wagons, including hand-over and prices for such actionsy.
