Any necessary measures concerning the loading and security of goods in cargo railway wagons are available in UIC Loading Guidelines. The guidelines should guarantee the operational safety and trouble-free transport of the respective goods. The aim of the guidelines is also to optimize storage of the goods, as well as security methods, which will have economic benefits. They apply for both international railway transport performed by railway companies within the COTIF Convention, and domestic transportation by České dráhy railways.
The guidelines contain four separate volumes. When preparing for the transport and loading the goods, you will need three of them, namely:
This contains general rules to follow when storing and securing goods in cargo railway wagons.
This contains loading information, including a short summary of general rules from Volume 1: Rules, loading guidelines for specific types of goods and loading examples for selected types of goods, with respective variations from the rules contained in Volume 1.
This contains essential details and rules for determining the maximum permissible load weights within your intended transport route, which follows tracks of a standard gauge operated by European railway companies participating in the COTIF Convention.
Technical Support
The loading guidelines cannot cover every circumstance you may encounter when loading your goods.
