Joint stock company ČD Cargo moves to progressive steam coal unloading technology on the Chvaletice power plant siding. The company has agreed with the owner of the power plant SEv.en EC, a.s., and the supplier of the technology to build a new unloading facility for steam coal unloading. The transport itself will be realized in the Innovagon trainsets loaded with 56 containers called "montainery".

An interesting feature will be the use of a robot for shunting of the train set during unloading.

After all the project and approval processes had been completed, construction of an unloading facility was launched in August 2017. The concreting works and the preparation of the foundations for the technology were successful (even though it was necessary to overcome adverse conditions caused by acidity of the subsoil) and the actual technical equipment of the unloader is currently being installed.

According to the schedule, the installation is to take place by the end of February 2018 and a verification operation to test the functionality of the equipment will begin in March. The full operational status and acceptance of the unloading facility is expected at the turn of April/May 2018.
