The situation in most parts of the Czech Republic is very critical due to heavy rain, wind and water pouring out of riverbeds and has a major impact on rail freight traffic. The most affected areas at the moment are Ostrava, Opava and the Jeseníky regions.

Traffic is interrupted on the main corridor line from Studénka via Ostrava to Bohumín and Dětmarovice, on the lines in the direction of Opava and Krnov, to Paskov and Frýdek-Místek, and on the lines in the Jeseníky Mountains. Operation on other lines is complicated by fallen trees.
