On 1 May 2019, a change takes effect in the rules on the use of the Union transit procedure based on documents for goods carried by rail.
From now on, rail companies will not be granted the guarantee waiver, as laid down in Article 95 of Commission Regulation 2913/92. More information.
On 15th November 2018, the first train passed the new tunnel at Ejpovice, specifically its southern tube. It was the Pn 62600 train from Plzeň to Praha-Libeň of the carrier ČD Cargo. The twin locomotives 363.509 + 516 were at the head of the train. The train had to observe a speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour. Following trains ran through the tunnel at the speed of 50 km/h. By the end of the year the speed of 120 km/h should be allowed.
Each tube of the new tunnel is 4 150 meters long and the tunnel is now the longest in the Czech Republic. The tunnel construction started in January 2015.
