Transport of two new transformers from Austria to Mikułowa in Poland

From 5 to 7 June, ČD Cargo transportedd two transformers manufactured by Siemens in Austria for the Polish substation Mikułowa, which lies near the border with the Czech Republic north of the Jizera Mountains. Transformers were transported across the Czech Republic via Břeclav st.hr. - Bohumín-Vrbice st.hr., each with a special train, and each led by one locomotive 742 series. Both trains crossed the Czech section with two "night jumps" from 5th to 6th June and from 6th to 7th June, one train made a daily break in Drahotuše and the other in Suchdol nad Odrou.

The origin station was the Austrian Weiz and the target Polish Mikułowa. Both transformers are designed for the 400/220/110 kV substation, which undergoes extensive reconstruction and modernization in parts of all three voltage levels.
