ČD Cargo, a.s., issues a third amendment of its Tariff TVZ with effect from 3rd April 2026. The Tariff is accessible at https://www.cdcargo.cz/en/shipping-terms/tariffs/.

In addition, effective from April 3, 2026, a zero rate will be applied to fee PD 27.35 for failure to meet special conditions for forwarding or delivery at stations whose entries in the List of railway stations include additional notation “zp” (table of special conditions for forwarding and delivery at https://www.cdcargo.cz/en/shipping-terms/carriage-conditions/).

However, many of our trains are still powered by diesel locomotives. ČD Cargo spends tens of millions of crowns on fuel purchases, and unfortunately, we are unable to cover these unexpected sharp and long-term increases from our own resources.

If the price of fuel stabilizes at a higher level in the long term, we will be forced to introduce a fuel surcharge. We want to announce this possible surcharge transparently, and it would only apply to trains on non-electrified lines. Although we also use diesel locomotives at marshalling yards and almost every transport of your consignment begins and ends with a shunting locomotive, we are unable to quantify these costs transparently and, like you, we also have to bear part of the commercial risk.

Any fuel surcharge will be clearly linked to the announced fuel price, and if the price falls, the surcharge will be set at zero. If, on the other hand, the price falls below predetermined limits, we are prepared to offer you a discount calculated in the same way.

Personally, I still hope that we will not have to introduce this surcharge, but even so, I would like to thank you all in advance for your human and commercial understanding.

In 2023, the project was granted approval with EIA conditions by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, and an application for the determination of the mining area is currently being processed by the District Mining Authority in Ostrava. In connection with the upcoming realization, both companies, ČD Cargo and Vidnavský kaolin, are in intensive negotiations with Správa železnic on the restoration and commissioning of connecting railway lines and related transport infrastructure, including their corresponding capacity increase for efficient rail transport from site of mining and processing to their final destinations.

Vladimír Perný graduated from the Prague University of Economics and Business and earned his MBA from DePaul University Chicago. From 1991 to 2004, he acted as commercial director and vice-chairman of the Board of Directors at Čechofracht, and was responsible for setting up processes related to air freight logistics at Czech Airlines and Air Cargo Terminal Prague. From 2011 to 2012, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Prague Public Transport Company. He has also worked for other companies focused on trade and logistics.

Radim Ječný graduated from the Prague University of Economics and Business, Department of Logistics – International Transport and Forwarding, and recently successfully completed his doctoral studies at the same university. He gained his first work experience at Čechofracht, where he later acted also as a member of the board of directors. He obtained international experience in logistics at one of the largest sea shipping companies, CMA CGM, where he was responsible for intermodal container transport. He also worked with Touax Rail Ltd. for a long time. In recent years, he has been running his own business. Mr. Ječný joins ČD Cargo with the aim of restoring customer confidence and strengthening the market position of the national rail freight carrier.

On this day, the first GLOVIS train set for transport of cars was put into operation – a milestone in the project to strengthen the role of rail in the Hyundai GLOVIS logistics network. The overall goal is to increase the share of rail transport from factories to 50% by 2030, while reducing emissions by 35,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. ČD Cargo greatly appreciates the trust placed in it by Hyundai GLOVIS Europe.
