The supported measures are then intended to achieve savings in final energy consumption. The planned allocation of the Call for proposals for 2021–2027 amounts to a total of CZK 81.5 billion. The determination of the total maximum amount of support for the ČD Cargo Project is based on the amount of eligible costs according to the rules of the Call for Proposals.

Project description

The subject of this Project is to reduce the energy consumption of the Rotunda II building and related extensions on the premises of the Rolling Stock Repair Center in České Budějovice owned by ČD Cargo, a.s., by means of insulation of the shell building structure, replacement and renovation of doors and windows, replacement of lighting and other construction measures having a proven impact on the energy consumption of the buildings, including the installation of external shading elements. The Rotunda II building is used for the repair of rolling stock, with specialist workshops in the extensions.

Through these measures, the consumption and costs of electricity and heating of buildings from non-renewable sources will be significantly reduced by 1,715.61 MWh/year, which represents a saving of 68%. The annual energy savings show that the Project outputs will have a very positive impact on the environment, both in the surrounding area, the region and the Czech Republic as an EU Member State. The planned activities will also generate a lower share of emissions through lower energy consumption.

The total estimated cost of the Project was set by ČD Cargo at CZK 27.4 million prior to the tender procedure of which the total eligible expenditure is CZK 15.4 million. The amount of subsidy support from the eligible costs is CZK 5.4 million. The implementation of the Project should is to be completed in accordance with the terms of the Call by 30 November 2025.
