Project description
The aim of the Project is to equip a total of 18 locomotives of ČD Cargo, a.s., with the ETCS train control system (Level 2, Baseline 3). The project is divided into two parts – Upgrade and Fitment. The Upgrade part concerns a total of 8 Vectron MS locomotives that are factory equipped with the system, but with Level 2, Baseline 2 (L2, BL2), version 2.3.0d only. These locomotives will thus be upgraded to L2, BL3, version 3.4.0, and the associated upgrade of their control system and the GSM-R module. The Fitment part is then aimed at the acquisition of 10 new Traxx MS3 locomotives, which are already factory equipped with ETCS (L2, BL3, version 3.4.0). This is to support the ETCS part on locomotives that already meet the European and national objectives of the ERTMS plans from the factory. The total co-funding rate is a maximum of 85% of the total eligible costs of the action, with a maximum amount of support of CZK 6 750 000 for the fitting of a mobile part of the ETCS to one traction vehicle.
