Transport of Dangerous Goods

Safety advisers

Each company whose activities include transport of dangerous goods by rail or related to such transport (packaging, loading, filling, or unloading of dangerous goods) shall appoint one or more safety advisers. They are responsible for helping to prevent risks in these activities regarding persons, property, and the environment. The safety advisers hold a Certificate on Professional Competence of a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser issued by the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, Department of Rail Transport, Conceptions and International Railway Cooperation Unit.

Inspections of dangerous goods

ČD Cargo, a.s., provides inspections of dangerous goods in accordance with the IRS 40471-3 issued by the UIC. This IRS specifies the obligations of carriers resulting from the provisions of paragraph 1.4.2.2.1 of the RID Regulations, with the aim to maintain quality of transport and inspections at a consistently high level. A quality assurance system of the inspections in the transport of dangerous goods is currently applied by 32 Railway Undertakings in Europe.
