Until a new chairman of the ČD Cargo Board of Directors is appointed, the company will be managed by the current board members – Robert Heděnec and Martin Svojanovský. The company’s day-to-day operations and strategic tasks will continue without restriction.
“At the end of my five-year term, I have decided to resign from my position as Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of ČD Cargo. I am resigning for serious personal reasons, as I am no longer able to devote the same amount of attention and time to ČD Cargo as I have done until now. I would like to thank all our business partners and colleagues for their cooperation. The company is now stable and has taken further restructuring steps to ensure its long-term prosperity,” said Tomáš Tóth on his resignation.
“I would like to thank Tomáš Tóth for his work for ČD Cargo. The rail freight transport sector across Europe is in a deep crisis caused by rapid changes in the energy and industrial sectors, the consequences of which we are now experiencing firsthand in the rail sector. ČD Cargo is currently undergoing extensive restructuring, and the main task of the new management is to bring it to a successful conclusion in the coming period and ensure that ČD Cargo’s business is sustainable and profitable in the long term,” says Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of České dráhy, commenting on the current situation at ČD Cargo
