ČD Cargo provides its customers with transport of goods by means of block trains and in the form of single wagon loads or their groups. We are ready to transport almost everything – from metallurgical products, minerals, wood to products with high added value, containers, road semitrailers or exceptional consignments, such as transformers.
Iron and engineering products
For transport of raw materials and metallurgical products, ČD Cargo has an extensive fleet of wagons of various types, including the “silent” ones. It also offers transport services using the Innofreight technology, both for the delivery of iron ore and for transport of semi-finished products or pipes using SteelPaletts.
This commodity involves for example iron and other ores, black coal and coke, metal waste, metallurgical semi-finished products and goods (rolled products, wires, pipes, etc.) and machinery.

Combined transport
Combined transport is the most progressive transport sector. It combines the advantages of road, rail and water transport modes. It allows commodities that cannot be transported by conventional rail transport today to be kept on the rails, mainly due to the complicated “last mile” of the rail transport.
This commodity includes e.g. ISO maritime containers, swap bodies, cranable semi-trailers and Innofreight bodies.

Automotive
Car manufacturers, as well as private keepers of car transporters, belong among ČD Cargo’s major customers. The transport of cars and components for their production is one of the segments with the highest demands on quality, especially speed and reliability. The trust of our customers witnesses our reliability and high professionalism.

Construction materials
The transport of building materials represents a significant share in the ČD Cargo portfolio. In addition to minerals, we also provide transport of desulphurization limestone to power plants. And did you know that cement for the modernization of the D1 motorway was transported by ČD Cargo? In recent years, our company has also been increasingly asserting itself in transports directly to railway construction sites, including the unloading of ballast and, of course, the haulage of waste soil.
This commodity involves cements, desulphurization limestones, sands and gravels, glass-making sands, feldspars, concrete products, waste soil and other goods.

Chemistry
We encounter products of the chemical industry literally at every step. And railway is an indispensable partner for this industry. ČD Cargo provides, for example, transport of aviation gasoline to Prague Airport or transport of strategic fuels to various warehouses throughout the Czech Republic. ČD Cargo and chemistry are inseparable.
This commodity involves, for example, liquid fuels, biofuel additives, compressed gases, asphalt, tar, mineral and liquid fertilizers, road and food salts and a number of other chemicals and substances.

Solid fuels and biomass
Coal mining was one of the reasons why the construction of railway lines began in the first half of the 19th century. Later, railway companies also became a major buyer of coal for their steam locomotives. The share of brown coal in the energy mix is significantly decreasing, but ČD Cargo also offers its services for the “fuels of the future” – energy biomass, municipal waste or solid alternative fuels.
This commodity includes power brown coal, black coal, sorted coal and briquettes for retail consumers, energy biomass, municipal waste and solid alternative fuels.

Wood
For timber transport, we mainly use large-volume GigaWood superstructures. However, we do not only transport timber, but we are also an important partner for timber mills and paper manufacturers for whom we provide, among other things, transport of wood chips in Innofreight bodies, or transport of sawn timber. Thanks to foreign “licenses”, we have literally arranged turnkey transports of wood from the Czech Republic to Romania.
Within this commodity, the following goods are transported: paper pulpwood, sawmill logs, lumber, wood chips and paper products.

Food and agricultural products
Today, railway is gaining ground in this commodity mainly in the transport of larger volumes, especially of grain, which we offer in cooperation with our subsidiaries and branches truly “Across Europe”. We can also boast of reference transports of sugar or mineral water.
This commodity covers for example cereals, oilseed rape, malts, sugar, confectionery and other food products, bottled water and other goods.

Other goods
ČD Cargo can be proud of the fact that we can transport almost all types of goods. This statement can be supported by references from already realized transports. At random, we can choose regular transports of our soldiers and military equipment for exercises throughout Europe, transports of heavy transformers, newly manufactured rolling stock for tests on railway test rings or transport of radioactive goods.
This commodity involves: military consignments, oversized consignments, rolling stock on their own wheels, glass and glass products, humanitarian consignments and other goods.
