Basic information about the Operational Program

As part of the 2nd New Renewable Energy Sources in the Energy Sector (RES+) program, funded by the Modernization Fund under the ModF – RES+ No. 1/2025, managed by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, for financial support to implement a project involving the installation of a photovoltaic power plant on the SOKV České Budějovice building—the new hall of ČD Cargo, a.s.

The objective of the program, as well as the Call, is to support the implementation of projects leading to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the modernization of energy systems, and an increase in the share of renewable energy sources in final energy consumption. The supported measures will result in savings in final energy consumption. The planned allocation for the Call is 3.3 billion CZK. The total maximum amount of support for the ČD Cargo project was determined based on the relationship between eligible costs and installed capacity.

Project description

The purpose of this project is to implement an energy-saving measure aimed at improving the energy efficiency of a ČD Cargo, a.s. facility located on the grounds of the České Budějovice Rolling Stock Repair Center—New Hall. This goal will be achieved through the installation of a photovoltaic power plant with a total capacity of 69.6 kWp. The implementation of the proposed measure will lead to a reduction in electricity consumption from the distribution grid and a reduction in related operating costs.

Thanks to the project’s implementation, primary energy consumption from non-renewable sources will be reduced by 161.21 MWh/year. This measure will also help reduce the environmental impact by limiting emissions generated during energy production and consumption. The project’s benefits will be long-term and will last for at least 20 to 30 years.

For the ČD Cargo project, eligible expenses were set at 2.8 million CZK, with a grant of 0.55 million CZK representing 19.7% support. The project is expected to be completed by October 31, 2026. 10. 2026.
