Year 2022 – one of the toughest in the company’s history

ČD Cargo, a.s., the largest domestic rail freight carrier and the most important subsidiary of České dráhy, a.s., realized profit before tax according to International Accounting Standards (IFRS) of CZK 233 million for 2022. This is a one-fifth lower profit year-on-year.

The Lemkin Train with wagons of ČD Cargo as its main partner set out on a symbolic journey on Monday afternoon to spread the legacy of Raphael Lemkin, the author of the concept of genocide and the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

Strike of DB Netz employees

On Monday, 27 March 2023 (from 0:00 a.m. to 24:00 a.m.), a warning strike of DB Netz employees will take place. No freight trains will be allowed to run in Germany during the strike. Traffic at all border crossing stations to/from Germany will be stopped. We apologize to our customers for any complications.

New 393 locomotive series in the ČD Cargo fleet

At the end of March this year, two new 393 Vectron AC locomotives with an auxiliary diesel engine (DPM) will be added to the vehicle fleet of ČD Cargo. These locomotives are part of the Siemens X4 modular platform that includes locomotives of various purposes and systems.

Humanitarian aid to Ukraine

At the end of 2022, ČD Cargo, in close cooperation with its subsidiary ČD Cargo Logistics, ensured the transport of six covered wagons with humanitarian aid – power plants and room heaters – to the conflict-affected cities of Kyiv and Mykolaiv.
