Rolling stock maintenance and repairs
Rolling stock maintenance and repairs are carried out in vehicle repair shops concentrated in Rolling Stock Repair Centers (SOKV) based in Ostrava, Ústí nad Labem and České Budějovice. The SOKVs not only perform maintenance and repairs of ČD Cargo rolling stock, but they also offer repairs of rail vehicles for external customers according to the technological equipment of their workplaces.

- Repairs of electric and diesel traction vehicles
- Water resistance testing of locomotives
- Operational inspection of air reservoirs in traction vehicles
- Technical inspections of railway rolling stock in accordance with Decree No. 173/1995 Coll. of the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic
- Renewal of wheel set running profile on an underfloor lathe
- Turning brake discs on an underfloor lathe
- Turning the running profile of wheelsets on a centerless lathe
- Rail weighbridge – adjustment of wheel pressures on traction vehicles, freight wagons and passenger cars
- Rail weighbridge – weighing freight wagons
- Washing of traction vehicles
- Deposition of traction vehicles
- Operation of an EDK rail crane
- Repairs of railway rolling stock using a mobile workshop
- Repairs (inspections) of spare parts (wheelsets, springs, screw couplings, brake distributors, DAKO D auxiliary valves, friction pair distance adjusters, DAKO OS1 brake release devices)
- Maintenance of locomotive safety and surveillance equipment
- Operation of the defect detection center
- Special re-railing work and activities (rolling stock transport chassis) using accident assistance equipment (24/7 all over the Czech Republic)
Directive KVs-5-B-ČDC-CZ - Maintenance and repair of ČD Cargo railway wagons
The KVs-5-B-ČDC-CZ directive is the basic maintenance regulation for most types of railway freight wagons registered in the Czech Republic. ČD Cargo provides a license to use the directive on the basis of a contractual relationship for entities responsible for maintenance that decide to maintain wagons in accordance with this directive and for repairers of these wagons.
