Strengthening ČD Cargo’s Business

Effective from August 15, 2026, Václav Andrýsek, MBA, assumed the position of Commercial Director at ČD Cargo, a.s. He will be responsible for managing ČD Cargo’s sales activities, designing and implementing the company’s medium-term commercial strategy, and for achieving its business objectives. In his new role, Václav Andrýsek will focus on strengthening customer relationships, developing business opportunities, consolidating ČD Cargo’s position in the domestic market, and strengthening the company’s position in the Central European transportation market.

ČD Cargo’s Results for 2025

Despite the unfavorable situation on the European transport market linked to the transformation of certain industrial sectors, the ČD Cargo Group transported a total of 57.8 million tonnes of freight in 2025, which is by 1.1 million tonnes more than last year. This result is driven by increased demand for international transport of fuels and containers, as well as steadily growing performance abroad.

Changes in the positions of OPŘ directors

Based on the results of an internal selection process, there have been changes to the positions of directors of the Regional Operations Directorates (OPŘs) effective from April 1, 2026:

Second amendment of ČD Cargo Tariff for 2026

Amounts of PD 27.92 and PD 27.93 (Supply and pull-out of wagons to and from the siding Závod Střekov – Horní větev 1 at the railway station Ústí nad Labem-Střekov) have been adjusted.

Rail transports of kaolin from Vidnava

ČD Cargo has long been cooperating with Vidnavský kaolin s.r.o. (eurokaolin.com) on the restoration of mining and processing of kaolin raw materials from the Dolní Červená Voda deposit in the areas of Stará Červená Voda, Vidnava, and Velká Kraš, where the company owns a site with a railway siding.
