In the section ČD Cargo – About us – ESG we publish the certificate of the carbon footprint calculation of the company ČD Cargo. We thus join the companies that are actively concerned about their environmental impact. We are taking the ESG issue very seriously in order to be ready for the new CSRD reporting, and ESG has become an integral part of our corporate strategy.

The carbon footprint is a gauge of the impact of human activity on the environment and in particular on climate change. It is an indirect indicator of the consumption of energy, products, and services. It measures the amount of greenhouse gases that relate to a particular activity or product. In the case of a business, the carbon footprint measures the amount of greenhouse gases associated with its activities. The calculation of the carbon footprint of ČD Cargo, a.s., was carried out in accordance with the international standard GHG Protocol. It is the most widely used calculation tool for the GHG inventory of companies and organizations. It enables the company management not only to measure emissions, but also to plan and manage their gradual reduction.
