On 30^th May 2024, the Harmony Hotel in Špindlerův Mlýn hosted already the 7^th annual conference of the Association of Railway Freight Carriers ŽESNAD.CZ. This time it was with international participation – the conference was attended by the CER Executive Director Alberto Mazzola and remotely also by Keir Fitch from the Mobility Division of the European Commission. Topics such as infrastructure modernization, fleet modernization and reliability, digitalization or capacity increase were therefore discussed.

The second thirty-minute session entitled "Two on Two" concerned the connection between the Czech industry and the railway. Jan Rafaj, President of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, Zdeněk Zajíček, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Tomáš Tóth, the 1st Vice President of ŽESNAD.CZ and Martin Hořínek, President of the ZESNAD Association, discussed the problems that limit modal shift, sustainability, and competitive Europe.

The next panel discussion focused on the infrastructure development in the coming years and the impact on the commercial success of the carriers. In addition to the representatives of ŽESNAD.CZ, Jiří Svoboda, Director General of the Railway Administration and Lenka Hamplová, Senior Director of the Economic and Infrastructure Section of the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, took part in this panel. The conference was concluded with a discussion with Martin Kupka, the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic.
